If you are a WASSCE graduate with a D7 in your grades, and are planning to join the Immigration Service, one of your concerns may be whether or not you will get the chance. Well, I think you should not be worried.
The Ghana Immigration Service is one of the most important services in the country. It is responsible for enforcing immigration laws, border management, issuing travel documents and others.
Each year, the National Immigration Service recruits thousands of Ghanaians into the service. Holders of WASSCE certificate, Diploma and Degree holders are recruited. The minimum certificate is WASSCE results.
Is D7 accepted in Ghana Immigration Service?
The short answer is yes, D7 is accepted by the Ghana Immigration Service at the moment. However, it is important to take into consideration the specific subjects and year of recruitment.
Generally, the minimum requirements for all subjects in the Immigration Service is A1 — D7 in core subjects such as English language, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies.
This means that students with a D7 in their WASSCE results are qualified to apply. What I do not know is whether or not if you have a D7 in your core subject, you can still apply.
Several institutions in Ghana require applicants to have at least grade C6 in their core subjects. For instance, if you have a grade D7 in General Agriculture, but at least C6 in the remaining six, you can apply to any university in Ghana.
So, if you have a D7 in your results, you can proceed to apply to Ghana Immigration Service once the forms are out or once the recruitment process begins.
